Mark Buford

Early in his time as an artist, Mark Buford's feedback was not always positive -- considering he began drawing during class at the age of ten. He went on to graduate from the University of West Georgia and then returned to school to study graphic design. His work got a much better reaction when he moved from drawing for magazines to being picked up for syndication in 1997 with his first strip, "Meatloaf Night." In 2006 he submitted "Scary Gary" for syndication, and the new comic began its run two years later to great success.
