Greg Walker, Brian Walker and Neal Walker
Mort Walker began his career at an early age, selling his first cartoon at the age of 12 and becoming cartoonist for a daily metropolitan newspaper at the age of 15. Four years later, he was drafted into the army, and attended the University of Missouri after being discharged. In 1950, Walker began drawing a comic strip about Spider, a college cut-up who accidentally enlisted in the military and was sent to Korea. Once in syndication, Spider became known as Beetle Bailey, and Walker's infamous army private became world-renowned not long after. Walker was honored for his work by the US Army at the Pentagon in 2000, on the 50th anniversary of the comic strip.
