Travis Kelce buys share of Kentucky-bred racehorse named Swift Delivery

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Is there anything more romantic than your boyfriend buying a horse that shares your name?
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs tight end and boyfriend of music superstar Taylor Swift, now owns a share of a 3-year-old gelding Swift Delivery, the outlet Bloodhorse reported. The horse is owned by Team Valor International and Gary Barber, and the Zoldan Family — owners of Phantom Fireworks — along with Kelce, acquired “a significant share” of Team Valor’s ownership, according to Team Valor’s website. Kelce attended the Derby with the Zoldans earlier this year.
Swift Delivery is a Kentucky-bred horse who has won his past two starts. It’s not immediately clear if Swift Delivery is named after Swift herself.
Though Kelce hasn’t publicly commented on the purchase, his brother Jason Kelce did. After Travis attended the Derby in May, Jason got into hot water after suggesting that racehorses were given steroids. Jason poked fun at himself in a tweet about the purchase, and then referenced the Swift song, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
“But does it have an enlarged heart. ... Can this horse do it with a broken heart!” Jason tweeted.
After attending the Derby for the first time, Travis declared himself “a Derby guy now,” on his podcast “New Heights,” which he hosts with Jason.
“It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I am definitely going to try and experience again,” Travis said in the May episode.
Travis raved about his Derby experience, with he and Jason saying they would love to attend an event in the infield.
“That Derby is a hell of an event, man, and I’m definitely in for another run at it,” Travis said. “We’ll have to check out the infield next year.”
