Pistons begin four-game road trip with blowout victory vs. Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY — The Detroit Pistons began their four-game West Coast road trip with a 134-106 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night at Delta Center. With the win, the Pistons improved to 35-27 overall.

Despite recording five turnovers, Cade Cunningham led the Pistons on the night with 29 points on 12-of-24 shooting, nine assists and four steals. The All-Star guard was one of six players who scored in double-figures.

Ausar Thomson recorded 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Jalen Duren notched his fifth double-double in seven games with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and a pair of steals. Malik Beasley, who started in place of Tobias Harris, contributed 15 points.

Due to their defense, the Pistons led by as many as 29 points, which led to Utah committing 25 turnovers and conceding 32 points. Kyle Filipowski led the Jazz with 22 points and seven rebounds. Collin Sexton added 16 points and three steals.

 

Up next

The Pistons will continue their four-game road trip against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. They will then travel to San Francisco for a meeting against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. Tip-off against the Clippers is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET at Intuit Dome.
