Biden to appear on 'The View' next week

Former President Joe Biden will appear on ABC morning show “The View” next Thursday.
The 46th President will be joined by former first lady Dr. Jill Biden at 11 a.m. for their first interviews since leaving the White House in January. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg gave viewers an idea of what to expect on Thursday’s show.
“We’ll ask about his legacy, accomplishments, regrets and of course, the current political landscape,” she said to thunderous applause.
Biden appeared on “The View” in November when he told viewers he would’ve beaten President Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential Election had he not dropped out in July following a dreadful debate performance.
“I was confident I would beat Trump,” Biden insisted. “He’s a loser.”
Former Vice President Kamala Harris ran in his place and was defeated by Trump by 1.5% of the popular vote. The cast of “The View,” which includes former Trump Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin, was largely supportive of Biden and Harris in their respective runs against Trump.
Trump has been anything but gracious toward Biden since taking office, repeatedly complaining he “inherited a mess” from his predecessor and blaming him for the struggling economy.
The U.S. economy was largely regarded to be in solid shape before the Trump administration took power in January and threatened harsh tariffs against allies and adversaries alike. The Dow Jones was at $43,487.83 when Biden left office. It opened at $40,918.04 Thursday. The president has said the nation is experiencing a setback that will be corrected by manufacturing jobs being created in the U.S.
Biden has been publicly quiet about the incessant criticism that continues to come from his successor. He defeated Trump in the 2020 presidential election, but was trailing the Republican leader before dropping out in 2024 amid questions about his mental acuity.
Trump enjoyed a fairly cordial relationship with “The View” when he was a reality TV personality. Since going into politics and pushing conspiracy theories about former President Barack Obama’s place of birth on the show in 2011, that relationship soured.
