We've been robbed. Our tax money has been looted, stolen and wasted. Beyond the imagination of most Americans.

But not beyond my imagination.

Muhammad Ali once said, "It ain't bragging if you can back it up." Well, I can back it up.

I've spent the past decade on my TV and radio shows reporting, warning and screaming from the highest mountaintops that:

-- Politicians and government employees are robbing and raping taxpayers.

-- Politicians and government employees are crooked and corrupt.

-- Politicians and government employees live by the credo, "We make $170,000 a year, plus all we can steal."

-- Politicians and government employees are lazy and incompetent, don't know how to do an honest day's work, and live by stealing from taxpayers.

-- There are way too many government employees. We could operate government just fine by firing half of the government employees.

-- Politicians and government employees have stolen and looted trillions of dollars from taxpayers. That's why people making $170,000 a year are retiring as multimillionaires. That's not possible. After paying taxes, and paying for kids, and college educations, and mortgages, and property taxes, and often alimony, too -- no one can become a multimillionaire on $170,000 a year. Something is wrong.

-- Politicians and government employees are getting filthy rich by directly stealing taxpayer money and also by awarding government spending and contracts to their friends and relatives; and by taking kickbacks from whoever is awarded government money; and from taking bribes into offshore bank accounts from our foreign enemies like China, the Mexican drug cartels and Iran; and from high-paying no-show jobs, stock options and insider trading scoops given to their relatives from big corporations and lobbyists.

I've said all of this 24/7 on my TV and radio shows for the past decade. And Elon Musk and DOGE are now proving it all true.

So, how do we fight back?

First, here is what I'm hearing from average Americans. I'm getting bombarded with emails from my TV viewers saying:

-- They've all lost faith and trust in our government and the IRS. And they do not want to pay a dime to this government on April 15.

-- Joe Biden and the media lied for four years. The economy for average Americans stinks. Many of them are broke and hurting. Joe Biden left President Donald Trump a terrible failing economy.

-- Small businesses are about to fail in record numbers.

-- Taxes are way too high. Americans can't afford the income taxes, payroll taxes, property taxes or sales taxes -- let alone all of them.

-- They now know (thanks to Musk and DOGE) their tax money has been stolen. They don't want to pay anymore until the system is fixed. Why should they throw good money after bad?

Here is what I believe Trump should announce to fix this mess: If he announces this, he becomes a hero and goes down in history as the greatest president and "man of the people" ever!

President Trump should announce:

"In light of all the theft, looting and waste Elon and DOGE has discovered -- and this is only after a couple of weeks -- the $55 billion he's found missing is clearly only 'the tip of the iceberg.' The people of America have lost faith in their government and the IRS. They know their tax money is being stolen and wasted. So, I'm suspending Tax Day April 15. I will declare a three-month 'National Tax Holiday.'

"No one has to file taxes, or pay a dime in taxes, on April 15. You get a three-month suspension. Your new tax deadline is July 15.

"But it's even better than that. I'm declaring a "National Tax Holiday" for those three months. No taxes are due on what you make for those three months! What you make belongs 100% to you for those three months.

"Your 2024 tax filings and taxes are now due on July 15, 2025. And you can use the money you make tax free during those three months from April 15 to July 15 to pay your tax bill for 2024.

"During those three months, Elon and DOGE will make major progress with their investigations and audits. And we will get a handle on how much taxpayer money has been looted and stolen. We will start making arrests of corrupt government employees. We will clean up the corruption.

"So, by July 15, you can feel confident again, and have trust again, that your tax money is no longer being stolen or wasted."

Secondly, President Trump should announce, "We will figure out exactly how much has been stolen and start the process of clawing it back. And we use that recovered money to set up a 'Taxpayer Reparations Fund.'

"Half the money we claw back will go to paying off the national debt, and the other half of the money will be distributed back to you -- the taxpayers -- in the form of annual tax refund checks. For the next four years of my administration, you will get your stolen tax money back!"

Author's Note: Musk and Trump have both announced in the past 24 hours (as of the writing of this column) a version of my idea. They're calling it a "DOGE Dividend."

Third, "I promise to work hard to either dramatically reduce your income taxes, or if I get my way, to fully eliminate income taxes and close down the IRS."

Author's Note: Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick announced in the past 24 hours Trump's goal is to eliminate income taxes and the IRS.

And fourth, "I pledge to start mandating lie detector tests for the people in government responsible for government spending. They will all get annual lie detector tests, as well as random lie detector tests, to make certain they are not stealing your tax money or taking bribes or kickbacks.

"Annual and random lie detector tests are given to Navy Seals -- the best and bravest Americans who risk their lives every day for you. If they're good enough for Navy Seals, they should be good enough for every government employee."

If President Trump announces any combination, or all of these ideas, he will go down in history as the most popular president and "man of the people" ever.
