You’ve no doubt heard of the infamous Judas Iscariot — and his well-known betrayal — but you’ve never seen him in this light before. In the first of Martin Davey’s exciting The Black Museum series, Judas is, well … miraculously, the hero.

"Judas the Hero" follows Detective Inspector Judas Iscariot through the dark underbelly of present-day London on a mission to stop some mysterious and macabre forces — and perhaps, find redemption for his past crimes.

In this urban fantasy thriller, Judas finds himself cursed with immortality and working at The Black Museum, London’s secret occult crime division. He doesn’t mind the work — in fact, he enjoys working with his latest partner and doing something good for a change. But when a pair of severed angel wings shows up — followed by another, and another — Judas is drawn into a case far darker than he ever imagined.

His investigation takes him from the heart of Scotland Yard to seedy slave trading pits, along ancient druidic paths and aboard trains using Britain’s Ley Lines for tracks. With the help of an angel or two, he might be able to defeat the formidable criminal organization called The 10, along with their mysterious leader, The Baptist.

What Judas doesn’t realize is that this case is just the beginning. A secret uncovered during Hitler’s search for the occult comes to light, and figures from London’s criminal past start to stir in The Black Museum. Will Judas be able to save the day after all? Or will he forever remain the villain?

"Judas the Hero" will grip your attention from the very first page and never let go. Author Martin Davey proves himself not only a master of mystery and suspense, but also of history and mythology. Davey perfectly balances fantasy with mystery and puts a creative spin on these historical and mythological figures.

The characters in "Judas the Hero" are unique and captivating, especially Judas and Michael. Judas is a dynamic character readers will love to root for, while Michael is a force to be reckoned with — and a bit of an enigma. What is he hiding, and what will he do next?

"Judas the Hero" is filled with page-turning suspense, and Davey easily draws readers into the story’s action. This book is perfect for fans of thrilling urban fantasies like "American Gods," and The Rivers of London, The King’s Watch and The Dresden Files series.

Everything leads to a climactic ending that will leave readers eager for more. But don’t fret! There are a dozen more exciting installments in The Black Museum series, each revealing more iconic figures and shocking twists.
