What it’s about: The sixth installment in the 25-year-old franchise sees an extended family plagued by freak accidents because their ancestors escaped a disaster decades earlier.

The kid attractor factor: There might be appeal for teens who enjoy horror movies.

Good lessons/bad lessons: You can't escape your fate — cheat death, and things get messy.

Violence: Extreme bloody violence and bodily destruction through all manner of everyday objects.

What it’s about: Ethan Hunt's last mission sees him trying to kill the dangerous AI the Entity, which has taken over all nuclear power on the planet.

The kid attractor factor: Kids and teens might be drawn to the action-adventure story.

Good lessons/bad lessons: People are good, AI is bad. Reject modernity, embrace tradition.

Violence: Some fighting and bloody violence, perilous and dangerous scenarios and stunts.
