DETROIT — The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his band's era-defining "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" by going small, and leaving his fellow Pumpkins behind.
Corgan will perform at Saint Andrew's Hall on June 19, promoters announced Monday. It's part of a nationwide tour from Corgan's new solo project, Billy Corgan and The Machines of God, which will commemorate the "Mellon Collie" anniversary as well as the 25th anniversaries of the Pumpkins' "Machina/The Machines of God" and "Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music."
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster, and presale tickets are available beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Corgan will perform with guitarist Kiki Wong, drummer Jake Hayden and bassist Kid Tigrrr.
The show will feature "classic tracks and deep cuts from the highly acclaimed records," according to a tour release. The 16-date trek kicks off June 7 in Baltimore and wraps June 29 in Minneapolis.
Also on Monday, Corgan announced an 80-track box set dedicated to "Machina," which will be available exclusively at Corgan's Madame Zuzu’s tea shop in Highland Park, Illinois. The album will be re-released on vinyl in its original 16-track form on Aug. 22.
